1. Do not touch the computer screens (They are easy to scratch and hard to clean.)
2. Do not bump or knock the computers. (High speed hard drives can fail and ruin
the computer and your data.)
3. Close the DVD/CD tray after you remove a disk. (The plastic tray is easy to
break, especially this one at knee level.)
4. Place coats and bags under conference tables and NOTunder your stations.
5. Make multimple back-up your files on ZIP disks and/or DVD for extra
protection. Others who use the same computer could accidentally erase your files
or the hard drive could suddenly fail and need to be replaced. Keep in mind that the
GU computer management is not responsible for files lost.
6. Protect your DVD and ZIP disks in the original plastic container away from
dust and dirt. If not the computer drive will try to read the disk in between a layer
of dirt and the disks. This will damage the drive, the disk and you will loose all
your work.
7. Before you use your ZIP disks let them warm up to room temperature. If
you don’t, condensation (water) will form inside the computer drives/disks and you
will destroy your disk, the drive and loose all your work.
8. Do not shut down the computer unless instructed by your teacher or the lab
monitor.
9. Do not handle the window shades. Let the instructor or monitor raise or lower
them.
10. Ask your teacher or monitor about printing procedures before attempting to
print anything.
THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING THESE SIMPLE REGULATIONS SO THAT
EVERYBODY CAN SUCCESSFULLY WORK IN THIS COMPUTER LAB
